Description

To Princeton Toronto Alumni, Family and Friends:

Please join us for the PAAC Toronto Island BBQ on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

The event will take place on Ward's Island (part of the Toronto Islands) at the Ward's Island Recreational Association Clubhouse. Friends and family (especially kids!) are invited as well. The BBQ will be catered by the Island Cafe!

The event is free (including food and beverages) but we need to know who is attending so please order the tickets above.

Special Guests: The Roaring 20 are in town and will be performing for us! The Roaring 20, one of Princeton University’s most dynamic a cappella groups, has been entertaining audiences with its “sweet sound” since 1983. Originally founded as an all male, jazz-centric group called “The Cat’s Meow,” the Roaring 20 has over time become one of Princeton’s best known and loved coed a cappella groups. With jazz now comprising only a third of its repertoire, the group now performs diverse music, including songs made popular by artists including Adele, Snow Patrol, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles. Because of its broad, exciting repertoire and universal appeal, audiences of all ages take great delight in a Roaring 20 performance.

Where to Meet: At the Ward’s Island ferry sign, Toronto Island Ferry Docks, at the foot of Bay Street at Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.

When to Meet: In time for the 6:15 Ferry - a 6:00 arrival at the terminal should give you ample time to buy tickets and find us in front of the Ward’s Island Ferry sign. There are also 7:00 and 7:45 ferries, for those who wish to come later.

Parking is available 1 block north at Lakeshore and Bay, 1 block west on Queens Quay between Bay and York, 1 block east opposite Toronto Star building.

TTC users can take the Harbourfront line to the Queen’s Quay stop. The Harbourfront line can be boarded from within Union Station by taking the stairs from track level that show access to the streetcar line.

Returning to the Mainland: Ferries from Ward’s Island to Toronto depart at 8:00, 8:45, 9:30, 10:15 and 11:30. Tickets purchased to get to the island include a return to the mainland.
